Born during a '90s USC improv jam fueled by Zima and dial-up internet angst,
Summer of Tears has been crafting their unique brand of sketch comedy for over two decades. They've performed sold-out shows in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, and Austin, including a memorable run at the 2006 San Francisco Sketchfest. Their journey reached a high point in 2007 when they were named Best Sketch Group by the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado.Over the years, SOT has shared stages with comedy giants, opening for Paul F. Tompkins, Dave Chappelle, and Norm MacDonald. Since their touring days, Summer of Tears members have landed series regular roles on shows "Wrecked," and "NCIS: New Orleans," and made memorable appearances on "Parks and Recreation," "Workaholics," "Arrested Development," "Lucifer," and "Miracle Workers" amongst others, as well as a slew of pilots for WB, Paramount, and Disney.
Why do we matter now? In a world of fleeting TikTok fame and AI-generated humor, we're keeping the flame of human-made, organically-sourced comedy alive. We've evolved from sketch comedy upstarts to "Hey, I know those faces!" in Trader Joe’s status. Plus, in 2024, the world needs laughter more than ever. And if we can't provide that, at least we can offer a distraction from the impending robot apocalypse. You're welcome, humanity! Summer of Tears is: Rob Kerkovich, Will Greenberg, Dusty Warren, Nicholas Massouh, Kirstin Eggers, and Todd Waldman. Hi since, it's a brand new show we have links to old shows and videos here:
