About me
Shanti Charan is a stand-up comedian, writer, and storyteller based in the Bay Area. As the daughter of immigrants and an Indo-Fijian woman, Shanti's humor offers a unique perspective shaped by her experiences growing up as a second-generation American and teaching college courses to incarcerated students. Her insightful and engaging comedy has garnered recognition such as San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “Best Comedian” in their Annual “Best of SF” edition, and SF Weekly’s “Best Stand Up on the Way Up,” praising her writing as “clever and confident beyond her years.” Shanti has shared the stage with comedy heavyweights like Bobby Lee, Fortune Feimster, Ronny Chieng, Sheng Wang, Atsuko Okatsuka, Anthony Jeselnik, Morgan Jay, Dan Soder, and Hasan Minhaj.
