Boston born / San Francisco based singer-songwriter, Matt Nathanson has built an impressive and exceedingly rare independent 30+ year music career.
Best known for his hit singles "Come On Get Higher," off his double platinum 2007 album, Some Mad Hope, “Faster” and “Run” off his 2009 Modern Love album and “Used to Be” from 2018’s Sings His Sad Heart, Nathanson views music as a religion and is tireless in his pursuit of the magic of song. His 2022 album, Boston Accent, marked a return to his singer-songwriter roots, drawing inspiration from artists like Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, and Paul Simon. The album features fan-favorites such as "German Cars," "Pictures," and "Boston Accent”.
In addition to his studio work, Nathanson is renowned for his live performances. Part concert, part comedy show, part communal experience, his down-to-earth personality and genuine connection with his listeners has gained him a passionate fan base who sell out his shows across the globe.
Looking ahead, Matt announced a new album, King Of (Un)Simple, set to be released on February 7, 2025. He recorded the album over the past year and a half with a group of his favorite musicians, aiming to capture a raw and unfiltered sound. It includes a collaboration with his heroes, the Indigo Girls, on a song called “Whitney Houston’s National Anthem”.
In support of the upcoming album, Nathanson is embarking on the "King of (Un)Simple Tour," headlining theatres across the U.S., from February thru April.
