About me
Jonah Spear launched the Bay Area Pun-Off in 2016, in a livingroom in Oakland, after enjoying a strong debut at the O Henry Pun-Off in Austin, Texas. Jonah is a lifelong performer and proud member of the short lived San Francisco based improv company, Six out of Five (2016). He is also an educator, summer camp enthusiast, dog dad, fun uncle, amateur potter, somewhat capable woodworker, and avid gardener!
He and Brady Gill (co-host) attended the same theater training program in Moscow, Russia in 2000 - a month apart - but didn’t meet until 2014. Amongst other similarities, they both prefer pie to cake, are quite evenly matched in table tennis, and have both spent greater than twenty summers at camp. Only one of them can tolerate lactose and we’re not saying which.
Worldwide Puns (a nod to David Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants) is active up and down the west coast, and expanding to Denver in 2024.
