Writer, actor, and producer Jason Mantzoukas is in high demand both on and off-screen due to his notorious improv style and impeccable comedic timing. On-screen, Jason can be seen opposite comedy giants Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler in the dysfunctional family comedy "The House", directed by Andrew Cohen. "The House" was released by Warner Brothers on June 30th. Jason's role in the film is the catalyst for the entire plot–his character devises a plan to build an underground casino to fund the college education of Ferrell and Poehler's daughter.
Jason recently completed production on his next feature film, "The Long Dumb Road", with co-star Tony Revolori. Directed by Hannah Fidell, this independent film also features Grace Gummer and Taissa Farmiga, and revolves around Mantzoukas and Revolori's characters embarking on a road trip throughout the American Southwest.
Audiences first grew to love Mantzoukas opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in "The Dictator", in which he played the main character's former nuclear scientist, Nadal, who helps Cohen prevent their beloved homeland from becoming a democracy. Other fan favorites include Warner Brothers' "How To Be Single", IFC's "Sleeping with Other People", and Lionsgate's "Dirty Grandpa", all released in early 2016.
On television, Mantzoukas can be seen on FOX's long-running NYPD situational comedy, "Brooklyn 99", opposite Andy Samberg and Terry Crews. He plays a hilariously insane detective by the name of Adrian Pimento who undoubtedly adds an extra layer of comedy whenever he is involved.
Jason is best known as the lovable psychopath, Rafi, on FXX's "The League". The show, which followed a group of misfit friends in a fantasy football league, premiered its seventh and final season in September 2015. Mantzoukas' other notable television credits include HBO's "Enlightened", Amazon's "Transparent", NBC's "Parks and Recreation", NBC's "The Good Place", Netflix's "Lady Dynamite", CBS's "No Activity", TruTV's "I'm Sorry", and Netflix's recently renewed "Big Mouth. "
Regarding Jason's off-screen achievements, he co-wrote Kevin Hart's "Ride Along", as well as several episodes of Adult Swim's "Children's Hospital" and FXX's "The League". He was recently tapped by Plan B Entertainment and Paramount Pictures to write "Battling Boy", an adaptation of Paul Pope's famous graphic novel of the same name. The film will be a hybrid of live-action and animation, with Patrick Osborne set to direct.
Mantzoukas is also a principal co-host and creator of the extremely popular Earwolf podcast "How Did This Get Made? " alongside Paul Scheer and June-Diane Raphael. The bi-weekly podcast deconstructs famously bad movies, and features a rotating cast of guest stars such as Patton Oswalt and Amy Schumer. "How Did This Get Made? " recently played sold-out live shows at Irving Plaza in New York City, Paramount Theater in Austin, and The Largo in Hollywood. HDTGM was downloaded over 30 million times in 2016 and each new episode boasts 300,000 listeners.
In addition to "How Did This Get Made" live shows, Jason continues to perform at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles for his monthly improv show "Mantzoukas And..." as well as every Friday night in "Soundtrack. "
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Mantzoukas currently resides in Los Angeles.
