For the past twenty-one years, Porchlight has been San Francisco's premier storytelling series. Each month, co-founders Beth Lisick and Arline Klatte invite six people to tell ten-minute true stories without using notes or memorization. Past storytellers include some of the area's most entertaining school bus drivers, mushroom hunters, politicians, socialites, sex workers, musicians, authors, systems analysts, and social workers. Joel Kim Booster is a Chicago-bred, Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian, writer, and actor who was named one of the TIME100 Next 2022 as an emerging advocate and creative and a Variety Screenwriter to Watch (2022). Joel has also been recognized as one of The Queer Young Comics Redefining American Humor by the New York Times. Joel starred in the Searchlight Pictures rom-com "Fire Island", which won the 2023 Dorian Award for Best TV movie and was called an "instant classic" by the AV Club. The GLAAD Award winning film, which he also wrote, was released on Hulu in June 2022 and received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Screenplay and two Emmy nominations for his writing and best Outstanding Television movie in 2023. His first hour-long comedy special for Netflix, called "Psychosexual", was nominated for a Critics Choice Award and named one of the best comedy specials of 2022 by Variety. In his special, Joel explores his experiences and observaTIons as a gay Asian American male with commentary on identity, sexuality, cultural expectations, and more. Joel currently stars on the Apple TV+ series "Loot" playing Nicholas, Maya Rudolph’s quirky assistant. The series was created by Alan Yang and Mat Hubbard and will have its season 2 premiere later this year. Spend an evening of songs and sketches with Bruce McCullochKevin McDonaldScott Thompson, and some of your favorite KITH characters, who will be accompanied by Dave Hill and San Francisco’s own Red Room Orchestra with Marc Capelle, Allyson Baker, Tom Ayres, Pete Straus and  Jordan Glenn: a collective of popular, jazz, classical, and electronic composers and performers who’ve played and recorded alongside some of the most iconic bands in history. Bill Murray is an award-winning American actor, comedian, and writer. Murray is known for his deadpan delivery in roles ranging from studio comedies to independent dramas. He has appeared in movies such as Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, Stripes, Lost in Translation just to name a few. Murray is also famous for his work on Saturday Night Live.

Murray has been part of the music scene on numerous occasions over the years performing at events including Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival and John Prine & The Steeldrivers at the Grand Ole Opry. During his years on “Saturday Night Live,” Murray portrayed Nick the Lounge Singer and entertained guests with songs like “Brandy” and most famously “Star Wars.”

Murray recently made an appearance at the Big Blues Bender at Westgate’s International Theater in September. He joined his Blood Brothers featuring Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia, along with The Bender Brass horn section for a memorable set. Bill Murray & his Blood Brothers tore through The Beatles (and before that, Larry Williams’) “Slow Down,” and Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone.” The crowd joined in for the Dylan classic, shouting back, “Like a rolling stone!” as Murray delivered good ole’ rock n roll music in an energetic and inspired that was true-form Murray.

In 2017, Murray recorded a studio album featuring singing and literary recitations titled New Worlds with classical musicians’ cellist Jan Vogler, violist Mira Wang, and pianist Vanessa Perez. Bill and the three band members then joined for a world-wide tour in 2018 combining music and poetry. New Worlds: The Cradle of Civilization rolled out also in theaters in cities across the U.S. including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Las Vegas and more.
