Business Casual: Cowboys
Saturday January 18, 2025 7:00pm - 8:30pm PST
The place? The Wild West. The year… The Wild West. Come see as comedy trio Business Casual presents with their new show: COWBOYS!

Business Casual (@businesscasualcomedy) is a sketch comedy trio hailing from Los Angeles. The group consists of Jeremy Elder (@jeremyelderr), Cory Peter Lane (@corypeterlane), and Hunter Saling (@idealstepdad), all graduates from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. The trio embody a unique blend of physicality, absurdist sketch comedy, and clown. Or as one drunken woman in Louisville titled it: comedy rock n’ roll.

Critics have called their previous works “physical comedy perfection” (Three Weeks), “beautifully absurd” (Radio Haha),  “sheer Fringe genius” (The Scotsman), and “an evening of stupidity you’ll be sure to remember” (Broadway World).

COWBOYS most recently completed a limited Off-Broadway run at Asylum NYC. Previously, the show was presented as part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival and Moontower Comedy Festival, both to sold out audiences. Their previous show FERAL has been featured at the Moontower Comedy Festival, New York Comedy Festival, SF Sketch Fest, and the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival (produced under the Stamptown banner).

The show tells the story of a gunslinging cowboy seeking revenge on the three men who killed his family. He must assemble a posse and set out on the journey of a lifetime. Along the way, the group encounter gold miners, snake oil salesman, and just about every Western trope you could think of. If you do think of a trope that they don’t mention, Business Casual kindly invites you to “keep it to yourself!”

Yeehaw pardner! Snake in my boot! Big pot of gold!

PRAISE FOR COWBOYS:

“Business Casual are all going to be world famous in a few years and you are going to feel very cool about being able to say you saw them do a bizarre cowboy themed comedy show.” — Chris Gethard

“I love these boys with all of my heart.” — Natalie Palamides

Time to Kill
Saturday January 25, 2025 4:00pm - 5:30pm PST
Like phoenixes rising from the ashes of the successful writers' strike, writers, producers, and comedians who work at The Daily Show, The Tonight Show, and more, come together for their iconic sketch show Time to Kill: A Sketch Comedy Show. Time Out NY rec'd the show as "one of the best things to do in NYC!" and the NY Times just rec'd the show as "What to Do in NYC in October 2023."

Created by Rachael Burke and produced by Rachael Burke/Scott Hercman, the show features sketches, musical numbers, celebrity impressions, and more! If "I Think You Should Leave"’s Tim Robinson had septuplets, it would be the cast of “Time to Kill." The show features America's sweethearts, Lily Blumkin ("The Daily Show"), Rachael Burke ("The Tonight Show"), Scott Hercman ("The Daily Show"), Josh Nasser (Comedy Central), Sila Puhl ("The Daily Show"), Nick Reichheld (NBC's "Bring the Funny"), Channing Tookes (The Armory), and more! One thing they all have in common? They KILL it onstage.

The team has performed together in monthly shows since 2018 to sold-out audiences in NYC and around the country at SF Sketchfest, Flyover Comedy Festival, Portland Sketch Fest, Charleston Comedy Festival, Austin Sketch Fest, NY Comedy Festival, and more, and a few performed their original sketch comedy on NBC’s Bring the Funny with Kenan Thompson, Chrissy Teigen, Jeff Foxworthy, and Amanda Seales!

With A Million Shetland Ponies, hosted by Connor Lonsdale.

“I was captivated from start to finish. Cassie is a phenomenal storyteller. I could practically feel the rain that she conjured. We were lulled by the elegance of her writing and wit into an unforgettable story of raw pain, fury and fragility. It is a howl of a poem. I was floored.” Phoebe Waller Bridge

CONNOR RATLIFF presents THE ACTING CLASS
Friday January 31, 2025 7:00pm - 8:30pm PST
An improv show disguised as an acting class, from the creator of the “Dead Eyes” podcast.

Professional actor ("Mean Girls") and award-winning podcaster ("Dead Eyes") Connor Ratliff is a fixture of the NYC improv comedy scene -- a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for over a decade, where his George Lucas Talk Show developed a cult following and became the subject of an award-winning documentary. Ratliff is also a classically trained thespian who graduated with honors from the prestigious Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts over a quarter of a century ago, making his professional debut on the stage of the Royal Court Theatre in London’s West End. During that same year, he also performed at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II. In the decades that followed, he has accumulated numerous credits as a star of stage, screen and stream, appearing in multiple Netflix Original Films as well as content on CBS, NBC, FOX, TBS, Home Box Office, Amazon Prime and the now-defunct comedy channel, Seeso.

But none of that matters now.

What matters now is “CONNOR RATLIFF presents THE ACTING CLASS,” an unending series of public workshop performances where he will, before your very eyes, demonstrate what acting truly IS.

For this special SF Sketchfest edition, Connor welcomes a longtime collaborator and friend to THE ACTING CLASS – professional actor/podcaster Griffin Newman ("The Tick", "Vinyl", "Blank Check" podcast) – for an in-depth discussion of their shared craft and a full-bodied demonstration of Newman's unexplored potential that could, perhaps, push him to his breaking point.

This performance will be slightly interactive and completely improvised, lasting somewhere between 75 and 90 minutes, with occasional opportunities for students in attendance to ask questions.

Defiantly self-indulgent and beyond pointless, THE ACTING CLASS is your opportunity to witness the kind of greatness – only slightly appreciated by The Industry – that has kept Connor Ratliff steadily employed for nearly half of the past 9 years.

PRAISE FOR CONNOR RATLIFF:

The New Yorker: “Connor Ratliff is a brilliant and funny comedic performer and actor.”
Vulture: “Intentionally preposterous… utterly funny.”
Vanity Fair: “An Improv Star.”
The Financial Times: “Funny.”

PRAISE FOR GRIFFIN NEWMAN:

FilmSchoolRejects.com: “Newman... is proving to be one of the best new character actors of his generation.”
