Edinburgh Spotlight: Shitty Mozart (SOLD OUT)
Sunday January 19, 2025 3:00pm - 4:30pm PST
This show is sold out. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door.

They cloned Mozart, it went horribly wrong and now we're stuck with the consequences. Shitty Mozart (Aaron Nemo, a writer for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert") performs a dazzlingly chaotic, vulgar, experimental one-man multimedia concerto.

Terrified that the audience will realize he lacks the musical genius of his predecessor, Shitty Mozart will try anything – playing makeshift instruments he's invented, performing duets with cartoons he drew, even conducting an elaborate laser light show voiced entirely by the song "Mr. Brightside" – in a futile attempt to escape Wolfgang's shadow and make a name for himself.

The SF Neo-Futurists present: The Infinite Wrench - Bits Out!

Our ensemble will ferociously attempt to perform 30 original micro-plays in just 60 minutes. The show’s order is determined by you, the audience! In honor of Sketchfest, for one night only, we've embarked on a truly unprecedented task to deliver 30 of our sloppiest, sketchiest and downright dumbest comedic plays.

Since the company’s founding in November 2013, The San Francisco Neo-Futurists have generated over 3,000 original short plays to over 13,000 audience members. Our flagship show, The Infinite Wrench, is an ever-changing collection of 30 interactive, non-illusory, plays performed in 60 minutes, every Friday and Saturday, 50 weekends a year. Every week, we cut between 2 and 12 plays, to be replaced with new plays the following week.

The SF Chronicle listed our show in the “22 San Francisco things everyone must do”

Woody Fu: One Man John Wick (SOLD OUT)
Saturday January 25, 2025 3:00pm - 4:30pm PST
This show is sold out. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door.

After a SOLD OUT RUN at Hollywood Fringe, Woody Fu: One-Man John Wick is on tour and has gone up in Austin TX, Chicago IL, and Toronto ON.

This scripted solo show takes us on the set of John Wick Chapter 5: E Pluribus Unum. Keanu needs the audience’s help to recreate all the hallmarks of this billion dollar franchise: elaborate fight choreography, death-defying stunts, and a plot device called “undeveloped dead wife character.”

More than a parody, Woody Fu: One-Man John Wick goes deeper into Keanu’s psychology. How do we reconcile the contradiction that he is the Nicest Guy in Hollywood, but his movies are insanely violent? Where does his tireless work ethic come from? What are his demons? And also, why is Woody the one exorcising them?

Keanu contains multitudes:
Reluctant A-list celebrity. Polite Canadian and action movie star. 40 year acting vet who went from goofy surfer to Clint Eastwood.

He loves his fans, does his own stunts, and buys people motorcycles. Let us celebrate The Nicest Guy in Hollywood with a show as weird, earnest, and hardworking as the man himself.

Woody Fu is an actor/writer based in Los Angeles. He has appeared in film and television on HULU, Max, Comedy Central, ABC, CBS, FX, AppleTV+, Peacock, Netflix and Amazon. He has written for the Onion and was featured as a New Face of Comedy at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival.

CONNOR RATLIFF presents THE ACTING CLASS
Friday January 31, 2025 7:00pm - 8:30pm PST
An improv show disguised as an acting class, from the creator of the “Dead Eyes” podcast.

Professional actor ("Mean Girls") and award-winning podcaster ("Dead Eyes") Connor Ratliff is a fixture of the NYC improv comedy scene -- a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for over a decade, where his George Lucas Talk Show developed a cult following and became the subject of an award-winning documentary. Ratliff is also a classically trained thespian who graduated with honors from the prestigious Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts over a quarter of a century ago, making his professional debut on the stage of the Royal Court Theatre in London’s West End. During that same year, he also performed at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II. In the decades that followed, he has accumulated numerous credits as a star of stage, screen and stream, appearing in multiple Netflix Original Films as well as content on CBS, NBC, FOX, TBS, Home Box Office, Amazon Prime and the now-defunct comedy channel, Seeso.

But none of that matters now.

What matters now is “CONNOR RATLIFF presents THE ACTING CLASS,” an unending series of public workshop performances where he will, before your very eyes, demonstrate what acting truly IS.

For this special SF Sketchfest edition, Connor welcomes a longtime collaborator and friend to THE ACTING CLASS – professional actor/podcaster Griffin Newman ("The Tick", "Vinyl", "Blank Check" podcast) – for an in-depth discussion of their shared craft and a full-bodied demonstration of Newman's unexplored potential that could, perhaps, push him to his breaking point.

This performance will be slightly interactive and completely improvised, lasting somewhere between 75 and 90 minutes, with occasional opportunities for students in attendance to ask questions.

Defiantly self-indulgent and beyond pointless, THE ACTING CLASS is your opportunity to witness the kind of greatness – only slightly appreciated by The Industry – that has kept Connor Ratliff steadily employed for nearly half of the past 9 years.

PRAISE FOR CONNOR RATLIFF:

The New Yorker: “Connor Ratliff is a brilliant and funny comedic performer and actor.”
Vulture: “Intentionally preposterous… utterly funny.”
Vanity Fair: “An Improv Star.”
The Financial Times: “Funny.”

PRAISE FOR GRIFFIN NEWMAN:

FilmSchoolRejects.com: “Newman... is proving to be one of the best new character actors of his generation.”

Edinburgh Spotlight: Catherine McCafferty: (Not) That Bad (SOLD OUT)
Saturday February 1, 2025 3:00pm - 4:30pm PST
This show is sold out. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door.

‘(Not) That Bad’ is a show about death, dating, and diarrhea. Catherine McCafferty will take you on the journey of her life: growing up in a family affected by alcoholism, coming out of the closet late, getting engaged to her first gay partner, having her engagement end, watching her dad die, getting sexually assaulted, and (arguably) worst of all shitting herself in public.
The show strives to explore that tragedy plus jokes equals comedy, because time isn’t linear. Grief is a circle and the circle can and should have some really funny speed bumps along the way. If the journey of life isn’t where we are going but how we got there, it's also about how we tell people we got there.
